Genesis 1:22

וַיְבָרֶךְ אֹתָם אֱלֹהִים לֵאמֹר פְּרוּ וּרְבוּ

וּמִלְאוּ אֶת־הַמַּיִם בַּיַּמִּים וְהָעֹוף יִרֶב בָּאָֽרֶץ׃

God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth." NASB

And God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters of the seas, and let the fowl multiply upon the earth." Traditional Jewish Translation


1288 – 1291 -וַיְבָרֶךְ– viyabarak – to bless, to kneel, (impl. To bless the Magistrates or the Creator) an act of adoration, and vice versa the Creator or magistrates to bless man and also to curse (the Creator and the magistrate, as treason); a knee.

852 – 855 –אֹתָם– ath – A portent, (derived from 226) a sense of entity, prop. Self, used to point out more def. the object of a verb. Nearness, near; hence gen. with, by at, among, etc. a hoe or other digging implement.

430 –אֱלֹהִים– Elohim – Magistrates.

559 –לֵאמֹר– la-amar, to say, speak, utter
a. (Qal) to say, to answer, to say in one's heart, to think, to command, to promise, to intend
b. (Niphal) to be told, to be said, to be called
c. (Hithpael) to boast, to act proudly
d. (Hiphil) to avow, to a vouch.

6509 – 6513 –פְּרוּ– parow – to bear fruit; a heifer; a city in Pal.; a hole; foliage.

7227 – 7230 –וּרְבוּ– yerabow – abundant; an archer; abundance.

4390 – 4394 –וּמִלְאוּ– vamelaow – to fill, or be full of, full, fullness; fulfilling, a setting (of gems), consecration.

4325 –הַמַּיִם– hamayim - water, waters
a. water
b. water of the feet, urine
c. of danger, violence, transitory things, refreshment (fig.)

3220 –בַּיַּמִּים– bayamim – to roar; a sea (as breaking in noisy surf), a large body of water, a large river, an artificial basin.

5774 – 5776 –וְהָעֹוף– vaya-owph – to cover (with wings or obscurity) to fly, to faint; a bird (as covered by feathers or wings).

7227 – 7230 –יִרֶב– yerab – abundant; an archer; abundance.

776 –בָּאָֽרֶץ– ba-eretz – to be firm, the earth.


And the Magistrates blessed them saying bear fruit, abundantly fill the waters of the seas and rivers and let birds be abundant on the earth.
