And they heard the voice of the Lord God going in the garden to the direction of the sun, and the man and his wife hid from before the Lord God in the midst of the trees of the garden.

Traditional Jewish Translation

They heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.

They heard the announcement of YHWH of the magistrates walking in the garden, into the wind of the day, so Adam secreted himself with the woman from the face of YHWH of the magistrates amongst the trees of the garden.
