Genesis 1:1

The Bible has been accepted by most people as a religious book, given to us by the Creator, telling us how to live for the Christian faith and the Jewish faith. There is nothing inherently wrong in that line of thinking. But what if the Creator meant the book to be read and understood by all of mankind no matter where they live.

It is my contention that the Bible is an instruction manual on how to live in a community. If you translate the Bible from the Hebrew with that in mind you will have a different mindset for living your life.

Below is my attempt at translating the Bible differently. I am translating it into an instruction manual, instead of a religious book. In translating it in this manner, you will see that there is a natural reason for doing things and not just a religious reason for doing it. The natural reason shows you that your physical health depends on you following the principles set down in the Bible.

Genesis 1:1

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

בְּרֵאשִׁית בָּרָא אֱלֹהִים אֵת הַשָּׁמַיִם וְאֵת הָאָֽרֶץ׃
7225 --1254--430 -852--8064 ---852--776

בְּרֵאשִׁית--7225 - barashit – The first, in place, time, order or rank.

בָּרָא--1254 - Bara – to create, to cut down (ie. wood), select, feed (as a formative process).

אֱלֹהִים--430 - Elohim – Gods, supreme God, magistrates.

אֵת--852 – 855 – ath – A portent, (derived from 226) a sense of entity, prop. Self, used to point out more def. the object of a verb. Nearness, near; hence gen. with, by at, among, etc. a hoe or other digging implement.

הַשָּׁמַיִם--8064 - Hashamiam – to be lofty, the sky

הָאָֽרֶץ--776 - Ha-eretz – to be firm, the earth.

This passage could very well be translated just as it is, but could it be translated any different? It could be translated, In the first place, the supreme magistrates selected the earth and the sky. Or. In the first place, the supreme magistrates fed the earth and the sky. Or maybe all three are correct, In the beginning, the supreme magistrates, God, created, selected and fed the earth and the sky.
